Dear Bilal Hassan i have been following Hurley's book.
Based on it i have developed the following understanding about material and formal fallacies. Kindly correct me if i am wrong.
Material/Informal Fallacies:
They are mainly divide into three groups:
a- fallacies of relevance (further divided into 8 types)
b- fallacies of weak induction (further divided into 6 types)
c- fallacies of presumption, ambiguity and grammatical analogy (further divided into 8 types)
Formal fallacies:
after studying the chapter of categorical propositions i came to know about following six types of formal fallacies:
1- existential fallacy
2- formal fallacy of illicit conversion
3- formal fallacy of illicit contraposition
4- formal fallacy of illicit contrary
5- formal fallacy of illicit sub-contrary
6- formal fallacy of illicit subalternation
