Asp's promotions r quick, otherwise both DSPs and ASPs r equal
moreover make it clear that it is NOT the rank but the post which gives authority. e.g a DSP working as SDPO is more powerful as compared to that ASP working in DIG office. or vice versa.
if both r SDPOs, both r equally powerful in their areas.
it is not only in police but all the other deptts of govt
