DSP is from Provincial service and ASP is from the Fedral. Both have equal powers, but priority is given to the three words i.e PSP in posting and transfers or for foreign courses.

But to remember that DSP has very few chances to get the rank of IG, he hardly reach to the rank of DIG, while ASP has alot of chances.
