The decision to conduct screening test is a wise one because it really will screen out the serious candidates and will expedite the process of result.
However the curriculum of the screening test is debatable, especially the math portion is annoying to most aspirants. Close look at the international tests would reveal that math of the candidates is tested in almost every career so there must be some reason behind this decision.
Overall i endorse this decision!
