Default structure of DNA and its bonding

the structure of DNA according to the watson and crick model and the bonding within the nucleotides and between the two strands of DNA.

It should be kept in mind that the Gaunine of one strand is bonded through the hydrogen bond with the cytosine of the complementary strand and adenine with thymine. There are two hydrogen bonds between adenine and thymine and three hydrogen bonds between guanine and cytosine.

the nitrogenous bases are categorised as
  • Double ringed Purines including adenine and guanine
  • single ringed pryrimidines including thymine and cytosine.
the two strand of DNA are anti parrallel to each other.
