India expresses respect for Musharraf
NEW DELHI: Indian National Security Adviser (NSA) KR Narayanan has expressed respect for Musharraf’s handling of Pakistan’s recent internal problems, and was confident of the president’s future. In an extensive interview conducted for CNN-IBN TV, the NSA said he did not think new COAS General Ashfaq Kayani would “indulge in adventurous action against India”. He also said that he thinks Musharraf will continue to get the backing of the military. Referring to the recent turmoil in Pakistan, and its implications for India, Narayanan acknowledged, with “grudging respect”, that Musharraf could succeed even after discarding his uniform.
