Anyhow I started like I am this, academically I am this, professionally that, we hail from there, live here. My father is this, my family.......

This is where they stopped me and started asking specific questions about my family. They were interested in bahan, bhai, mama, chacha, nana everyone.

After that - bachpan main kya kya hua, jawani main kya hua aur burhape main kya kya hone ja raha hai- kuch is tarha k sawal thay. That took a lot of time.

There were two female and one male psychologist. One of the females asked, 'you were smiling through out group activities while others were very concerned, why'?
I said I was very conscious the last time but I am not this time. The guy you are to interview after me, we were in the same group last time too, so we were discussing that last time we were really worried thinking what if we do not get allocated. But as they say ' I am fearless because I face my fears'. Now we have been there, we know even then we will manage. Then there was some more boring philosophy and about what students do wrong, how academies turn them into stereotypical characters and why we need to act natural.

Anyhow she again said but you were very happy then now I was seeing you were not. (I think she was suspecting me for bipolar personality disorder )
I said - Ma'am just before that we were discussing my mother's death, if you want me to smile I can but I don think that would be something normal. The moment I said that mujhe us ke is stupid demand pe aur is situation pe itni hansi ae, k us shikayat dore ho jani chaye thi.

So I started answering to chief psychologist question and she again interrupted saying but I was saying you were smiling then........... I explained again. May be she was trying to annoy me by making me repeat myself again and again. But this is what my sister does all the time so I am used to it.

What happened before was when they give you topic for speech they call you one by one, show you the topic and ask you to leave the room for two minutes to prepare/think about it. When I went outside tou wahan jo peon khara tha main ne us k sath thathay lagane shoro ker deay. Actually the speeches they were delivering were really boring I was relieved to be out. Then he said 'madam baki larkian jo bahir aa rahi hain bohat pareshan hain aik ap khush hain'. Phr mujhe yaad aya k main asal main krne kya ae hon bahir, mujhe kuch point soch lane chayain

Anyhow the male psychologist read my answer about careers and asked me if I do not get PSP would I still join civil services in any other group.
My answer was like 'if you want me you will have to fight for me' Obviously I didn't say that but that was the main theme. And we talked about other options I may or may not avail.
That led to, what I wanted to be in my childhood and how parents career influence your decisions blah blah blah. A pointless philosophical discussion!

About the next question, again there is some back ground. The first day they asked something about criteria for selection in civil services. They didn't even ask that but I went all the way out to criticize not only civil service but FPSC itself.
So he started reading out loud my answer, I started laughing, the other two started laughing. I was just thinking that one has to be a freak and not any freak, a freak of certain level to be that mindless to criticize the very service she is there to join and along with that the very institution that is to decide whether she can or cannot! And I think they were thinking the same.

So when he stopped I said- 'In my defense, I just slept one hour the night before the test so I was really sleepy when I wrote that.' We again laughed, and I added
'There is nothing personal here, it isn't like you didn't select me last time so I am questioning the whole evaluation system.' I was expecting him to ask me to clarify or elaborate what I wrote but he was just interested in the changes they have made in psy this year and do I consider them improvements, how I compare them with those the previous time. So I have my reasons to believe the explanation part would be for final viva.

There were other things but some are not relevant here they were specific to me and obviously I do not remember it all now.

Overall it was very interactive. At times even I asked them questions like wouldn't you agree with this, do you think this can be the reason. And we had a very heated debate about relationships. During that I and one of the psychologists was on one side of the argument and the remaining on the other. And once during discussion the chief psychologist even asked them to leave the topic now and ask something else

And right before the relations discussion concluded they asked me 'why are you single'. I said I want to be professionally settled before going for any commitment. That followed some more irrelevant discussion but I concluded it by saying- 'on a lighter note had you given me allocation last time I might have settled by now'. It was like saying - 'FPSC YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MY UNBORN CHILDREN!' So I laughed and I cannot remember whether they did or didn't. What I remember is one of them started explaining that there are other things on which allocation depends; like domicile or number of seats that year'. So he was like 'the est division or your Punjab's domicile is responsible for your unborn children not us.

Anyhow that was some experience, they are very friendly. In fact one of them smiles all the time even during group activities, yeah that one who was questioning me for smiling.

All the best. Do share your experience.
You seem to be so used to the system to face it head on as apparent from the way you confront everything haha. Very peculiar and ruthless approach indeed. Goodluck for final interview and allocation. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience for someone like us who would be going through it for the first time.
