Call it imposing optionals or Compulsory Optionals . FPSC is unable to interpret the meaning of option. They are no more optional subjects. Secondly FPSC conducts STP for all departments after qualifying CSS. In STP all relater subjects are taught. At this point, forcing candidates to study the subjecs of what FPSC choose for them is sheer injustice. Not everyone is ready to read odd subjects for years, nor every body has sufficient time to do so. Except a few, thousands of talented candidates would give up on CSS finally. In pakistan poverty rate is high. Majority of popunltion is facing financial constraints. One has to work after 16 years of education to support his family. It is not a bright policy, as the introduced odd subjects of 200 marks are similar to persuing double masters degrees, without getting any degree. Conclusively,if the pursuit of FPSC is to eliminate non serious candidates, they may introduce screening test or any other preliminary test. Imposing optionals, however, would eliminate potential candidates rather than non serious candidates.
