A short version of the Essay:

If history is any guide, there is no such thing as a soft or harmless war. Wars bring grief. All wars are ugly, destructive and abuse human rights. The US led war on terror is no exception. It certainly, has contributed to the growing abuse of human rights. The only difference, if there is any difference between it and the previous wars is that of tactics, technology and the magnitude at which human rights are being violated. The modern warfare methods used in this war on terrorism have left human rights activists across the globe astound.

The use of unmanned drones as a lethal weapon of warfare is a case in point. It does not kill but annihilates more innocent people than the targeted militants. It is but blatant violation of human rights. Similarly, the use of chemical weapons during invasion of Iraq; presence of torture cells at Guantanamo bay and Abu Gharib, thousands of missing persons with no chance of trial before a jury, hundreds of cases of rapes and gang rapes by the US led NATO forces in war torn countries, engineered political set-ups in Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan, intrusion into people’s privacy and attack on people’s basic right to impartial and free flow of information through controlled media are but few notorious legacies of massive abuse of human rights in this war on terror.

One lives in hope that better sense would prevail among the shameless champions of human rights and this madness come an end. The humankind of course, deserves more respect and a guaranteed protection of their inalienable rights.
Dear
What do you think about "growing abuse" and "contribution" ?
I think you have done justice to the topic but just in one dimension. And in my view this topic included 3 dimensions. You may differ with me.
