CSS syllabus of Physics consists of eight different sub-sections:
1) Mechanics(Classical)
2) Fluids
3) Heat and Thermodynamics
4) Waves and Oscillations
5) Electricity and Magnetism
6) Modern Physics
7) Solid State Physics
8) Nuclear Physics
Imagine, there is a box, and you put all of the aforementioned sub-sections in it.
In FSc, we only touch the surface of that box. We do not dig down enough to have better understanding of the subject-matter. However, in CSS, questions asked require deep understanding of the topics.
If you were an Electrical, Electronics or Telecom Engineer, I would definitely suggest you to opt it without any ifs, ands, or buts. Why am I saying so? Because Engineers(EE, TE) study first five sub-sections and the seveth sub-section(Solid state Physics) as the three-credit hour course respectively.
In a nutshell, FSc knowledge is not enough to get good marks in Physics. If you are aiming to get score of ninety or lower, FSc knowledge is suffice. In contrast, if you are setting your target above hundred and sixty marks, you have to study those topics in detail.
Should you opt it or not?
It depends on two broad assumptions, which are as follows:
1) Assuming that you are not doing full-time job: You have an ample time at your disposal. You can handle Physics pretty well. However, post questions like from where you should prepare the specific topic, how long the answer should be, and to what extend one should prepare that particular topic in the relevant section of this FORUM, which is obviously named "Physics." I would also suggest you to start off with the first topic and move slowly and steady to the next topic. Make sure that your pace is not tantamount to turtle's.
By considering above, you can opt Physics, and, In Sha Allah, you will ace it.
2) Assuming that you are doing full-time job: You SHOULD NOT OPT IT

It is the misconception. IR has nothing to do with any of the services. A person having no knowledge of IR upon selection can be allocated in foreign services regardless of his/her optional subjects.

No subject is easy or difficult. It is the matter of choice and interest that matters. However, in CSS, another factor also plays a vital role. That factor is "scoring subject or not."
IR has been scoring previously, but this time hundreds of thousands of people are going to opt IR. Therefore, you have to have "to-the-point", "correct" and "detailed" knowledge so as to excel it with flying colours.
