But this conversion requires that the newer version software (Microsoft Word 2010 in this example) must be installed and used to convert from docx (2010) format to doc format (Word 1997-03 Document).
Another way in which we do not require the latest software is that we upload the document to Google Docs, and then download it in Rich Text Format (RTF). This RTF document can be opened in Older version Microsoft Word also.
