To accomplish the same task, boys take twofold duration of time when compared with men. In other words the work of 2 boys can be done by a single man.
As the first part shows, work can be done by 3 men OR 6 boys
3 men = 6 boys
Therefore 1 man = 2 boys
To solve the question you have to take 1 group, either men or boys.
6 men = 12 boys
or you can equate 8 boys with 4 men.
120 days are required by 1 boy to complete the task, i.e. 6x20=120
Or you can say
3 x 20 = 60 days are required by a single man for the task
6 men + 8 boys = 6 men + 4 men = 10 men
Time required by 1 man = 60 days
Time required by 10 men = 60/10 = 6 days
