Pipe A:
1/3 = 1 tank/ 3 mins
Pipe B:
1/4 = 1 tank/ 4 mins
Time taken by A and B by working together = 1/3 + 1/4 =1/x
1/3 + 1/4 = 1/x
7/12 = 1/x
7= 12/x
x= 12/7
x= 1.7143
So, time taken by both pipes working together to fill the tank is 1.7143 mins or 1 min and 43 seconds.
