Well, if you are talking in the context of the CSS exam, then I don't think it would have any major impact over the end result. In private sector, it's quite the opposite actually; in-fact, experience is what matters the most. In certain public sector job opportunities that require a great deal of technical expertise, it's likely to have an impact over the final selection.
