ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has received a complaint against the National Testing Service (NTS).

A source in NAB told Dawn that NTS, which conducts tests of candidates intending to join the government sector, is accused of committing procedural irregularities in hiring.

Last month, the Lahore High Court barred the NTS from taking test of students who wanted to take admission in various university programmes.

After declaring the NTS illegal, the court had directed the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to set up a new body, but so far the order has not been complied with.

Though, in the light of the Lahore High Court’s decision, the private National Testing Service has now no role in educational institutions, many government-run organisations still hire its services.

Despite repeated attempts Chief Executive Officer, NTS, Dr Haroon Rashid could not be contacted.

The NAB spokesman, Nawazish Ali, however, confirmed that they had received a complaint.

“The complaint is not against the testing service of NTS, but against some procedural matters,” the spokesman said. He added that after examining the complaint, NAB will decide whether to initiate a formal inquiry. When Mr Ali was asked who filed the complaint, he refused to share details.

Hahaha, what a joke! Why NAB itself gives its projects to NTS for the recruitment of various posts? Recently NTS has announced NAB's advertisement and that project is on going.
