Default Mysterious death of Jahanzeb Khan Kakar 35 Common/DPO Jaffarabad

QUETTA (Staff Report) – A high ranking police officer was mysteriously found dead in his office in Jaffarabad district of Balochistan, police sources said on Monday.

Jahanzaib Kakar, District Police Officer Jaffarabad, shot himself in the temple inside his office in the regional police headquarters, according to the Balochistan police.

Sources told Daily Pakistan that the District Police Officer had ordered his staff not to let any visitor inside the office, keeping the door closed. After a while, the staff heard gunfire. They stormed into the room and found Kakar lying in a pool of blood.

Police officials confirmed the death on site.


Following the incident, top police officials in the province ordered an inquiry into the apparent suicide. Forensics collected the body and weapon as evidence for further investigation.

Jaffarabad or Jaffar Khan Jamali district lies in the South-East of the Pakistani province of Balochistan. Jafarabad’s district headquarters are in Dera Allah Yar.
