Sir Syed Ahmed Khan launched an English school at Muradabad in 1861. He was completely sure about one thing that it is necessary for Muslims to acquire expertise in western education along with religious education. Otherwise they cannot excel by any way. Gradually this faith of him kept getting stronger and he began thinking about this movement solemnly. In 1899, Indian government approved releasing educational funds after sending Justice Mehmood for acquisition of education to Britain. However, Sir Syed desired to acquire some opportunity of witnessing the educational system at Britain. Finally, he went Britain with his son Mister Mehmood and priorly examined their institutions and their education system. Eventually, he made the mind at Britian to establish a university for Indian Muslims at Subcontinent which would not be somehow less than the standards of Oxford and Cambridge universities. After returning to India, he laid the foundation of M.A.O college which gradually transformed into university.
