Two or more owner wala question?

I read couple of earlier posts and noted that there is a general agreement on partnership, which has two or more owners.
But where does it say joint ventures cant have two owner (legally speaking), also as per wikipedia:

"With individuals, when two or more persons come together to form a temporary partnership for the purpose of carrying out a particular project, such partnership can also be called a joint venture where the parties are "co-venturers". "

If someone could elaborate pls. Thanks!

Usually partnerships are associated with individuals coming together for a business and joint ventures are associated with businesses coming together. As per my knowledge the answer was partnership as the question asked about "individuals"

Warraich Monday, November 12, 2012 01:52 PM

I think the correct answer was "B and C both".
Question was about two or more individuals. Let's have a look on the defination given by Investopedia
The cooperation of two or more individuals or businesses in which each agrees to share profit, loss and control in a specific enterprise."
http://www.investopedia.com/terms/j/jointventure.asp#axzz2BzWppX4z
-
A joint venture is a legal organization that takes the form of a short term partnership in which the persons jointly undertake a transaction for mutual profit
http://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/joint_venture
-
An association of two or more individuals or companies engaged in a solitary business enterprise for profit without actual partnership or incorporation; also called a joint adventure.
http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Joint+Venture
-
Even of wikipedia and other websites, the word "PARTIES" is mentioned, an individual can be a party.

i never doubted that it was other than partnership same mcq was asked in mtos test of mcb and the answer was partnership..
keep it simple and see what what is written down there.
An association of two or more people as partners.
A business organization in which two or more individuals manage and operate the business.

while in joint venture two individuals join their individual business's.
The cooperation of two or more individuals or businesses in which each agrees to share profit, loss and control in a specific enterprise.

if some one has any doubt about that mcq check partnership act of 1932.that might solve your confusions.

Warraich Monday, November 12, 2012 05:08 PM

No one here has any doubt about the partnership at all. Almost every one here might have studied partnership and "Partnership Act 1932". For sure partnership is what you have said. Issue is only of "Joint Venture". If it were not in the options, every one might have ticked Partnership blindly. But now, as the question options were
a. Something
b. Partnership
c. Joint Venture
d. Public Limited company
e. B & C both
.
That's why the answer, as per my knowledge was option 'E'. If they had to keep the things simple, they might have not included the Joint venture and specially the option "e" that was b & c both.

any how what i perceived from the statement is partnership , if it was about the combination of their business than joint venture would be concluded in it .

when they purchase bond the flow of money will increase in the economy so bank will will lend you loan on low interest. ( as interest was mentioned so it was related o loan because ,if it was coupon rate than the return will be related to bond)

X + Y = 13
X - Y = 23

usually when wrong question or question with no appropriate answer comes every one is given 1 mark for it.

In question about the nationality of the jumper there was no appropriate answer. Even if you consider that by Australia it was Austria that was actually meant it wouldn't make Australia correct.

I am telling this from my experience.
