Default Regarding CSS

Asalam Walikum,

I m a student of civil engineering of NED University. I belongs to Karachi and my ambition is to serve country. The problem is that if I complete my engineering I will easily get job and earns handsome amount and if I go to foreign I will earn more money, but seriously I want to serve my country so I decided to start preparing for CSS but when I thinks that if I qualified CSS exam and get allocated in my desire group(PSP) then I thinks for my future life and I have heard that BPS-17 officer only get 25K rupees which is so low as compare to engineers, trainee engineers earns 15-20K rupees.

My question is that can PSP earn that it can live a better life and how much he earns? and what are the benefits he get like health facilities for himself only or for family also and many things?

First things first, brother engineers struggle for government job, not like you say. If you plan to only earn money then move abroad. I'm Electrical engineer and trust me css in not a easy nut to crack. Unemployment is at peak in Pakistan for engineers.

Bro, I haven't said that I need to earn money only but I want to know that can a person who is BPS-17 officer earns enough that he can supports its family and you have said that engineers struggle for government's job but I don't think so there are many engineers in my family who are settled abroad or in Pakistan they are wealthier than any government officers they have their own cars, houses and many things and if any one get admitted in engineering university it doesn't give surety that you become skillful engineer and you also know that student of engineering doesn't have to worry about what GPA he gets in exam, he has to worry only about skills which engineers must have and I have seen many engineers who are position holders of university are jobless comparatively the one who has skills are not jobless.

Engineers earn better than any honest government officer. If you want to live a peaceful life and want to earn an amount sufficient to raise a family, quit CSS. I have seen honest officers selling their own car to manage their household finances. And those who don't want to compromise, they are making money under the table. People working in private sector equally serve the country. I will suggest you to pursue with your degree.

If you can get government job after engineering aka SDO its best. Anyhow, I was unable to conquer my dream quest.
