If the politicians are so worried about the system then setting M.Phil as a minimum criteria for CSS must be followed by setting at least M.A for entering into the Parliament. with out this it would be a mismatch of a scholar bureaucrat and a matric pass minister.

Well i think it's good decision indeed, though this decision will have many Con's as well. i agree with all the comments here but what i think is that they are tired of the number of candidates evert year and by implementing this decision fpsc can decrease the number of candidates, well people as far as i know tribe is not an authentic source though.

They have already set tough criteria for diminishing the number of candidates that appear in exam. Secondly, M-Phil students are mostly indulged in teaching field and they have other high paid jobs rather than going to civil services. Civil Services was the best option for the Bachelors, they could set the criteria to Masters, but setting to M-Phil is non-understandable. Let see what they are up to.

A serving civil servant has already posted in this thread, stating that this MPhil requirement will only be for certain service groups, not all. I trust his prediction and I advise you all to not get distracted by a proposal. For now, keep preparing for your attempt as before.

Staying focused and determined is a strong quality to have for any aspiring civil servant.

How stupid! an MA requirement makes sense but an Mphil? Anyone who does an Mphil will have better and more highly paid options than CSS. Just goes to show how ill planned the so called panning and development department is.

I thank to Allah that it was just a rumor. Now we can further extend our preparation plans without being worried over the qualification we have. :)
