Default LHC new decision regarding CSS 2018

On Wednesday Lahore High Court suspended an order to conduct CSS (Central Superior Services) exams in Urdu from next year.

A bench lead by the Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah heard a petition filed by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) against the former decision of Lahore High Court to conduct CSS exams in Urdu.

The lawyer for Federal Public Service Commission informed the court that the commission was not prepared to instantly conduct these exams in Urdu.

He furthermore said that 43 of the 51 subjects of CSS exam were not in Urdu.

In his remarks, the chief justice of Lahore high court said that the aspirants complete their graduation in English so how can they be expected to take CSS exams in Urdu.

In February, the court ordered the commission to hold CSS exams 2018 in Urdu. Justice Atir Mahmood passed this order on the request of Advocate Saifur Rehman who had applied for CSS exams 2017 and objected that the FPSC advertisement was silent about the language in which the CSS exams will be conducted.

He requested the court to order FPSC to hold the exams in Urdu language as ordered by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2015.

However, the judge rejected his request to conduct the current CSS exams in Urdu this year because of the paucity of time.

The counsel of FPSC told the court that arrangements were being made for transfer from English to Urdu as well as committee had been set up for the suggestions in this regard.

He said that this matter had also been taken up along with HEC (Higher Education Commission).

Well its a sane decision by higher courts. Because in subjects like IR , I Law and many other subjects there are not even proper terms in urdu.

Don't know why our courts are behaving like a child . How is it possible for a student to write such a long paper in urdu. Even after matriculation we have not write urdu properly.

Not the entire court has such mindset. But a few Respected Judges have inclination towards urdu .But practically its not possible to conduct CSS in urdu.

Orya Maqbool Jan's views about not holding CSS exam in Urdu. He's an ex-bureaucrat.

Just remarks by Mr. Orya Maqbool sb. We have made our own language a symbol of shame and English as the measure of intelligence.
