As i have completed my graduation in 2005, afterthat i got job in private sector and worked for three years, But now i have resigned from the job and working as Govt. Servant.

I have forgotten all my acdemics. My english is not so good and i am interested to prepare myself for CSS.

I am working out of my home station so there are no any friends of mine to guide.

Dear Seniors your cooperation and guidlines are needed that how should i improve my english, what should i study first, i mean which subject or what should i do? i don't understand i am confused..

Brohi sahab, what's your age and qualification? And when do you intend to appear in CSS ? All this information would help all seniors to guide you accordingly.

Get start from English Précis and Composition paper, then English Essay, Pakistan Affairs, EDS, Islamiat, finally your optional papers and end with Current Affairs + English Essay again.[/FONT][/COLOR]

Follow the guidlines pointed by Raz blindly.I wanna add one thing regarding English,go on reading newspapers like Dawn,The News etc.You will be benefited in different areas especially in CA,PA.The very important pro will be to increase English vocabulary which guarantee,to lead to success atleast in Eng,Ess Papers.

Yesh you can appear in,But i suggest, u should appear in 2011 as well,so that you may have a bit idea for full preparation in coming exams.By the way you have three chances to appear in Css exams,so why not to utilize atleast one for an idea,However you will not be able to apply after 2014 as per 28years policy without any age relaxation.

I m not agree (wid sorry) that u prosepose that somebody appear in first attempt for an idea about css papers, Always appear in exam wid full prepration. Dont waste attempt in testing.

if ur govt service is 2 years then u have age relaxtation til 30 years of ur age. u should appear in 2012 if u have good prepration . Dont waste ur attempt in try. Attempt of css for a candidate is a great blessing of GOD dont waste it in try

Thanks for reforms.I was not suppose to appear in exam for the sake of wasting a chance,but wat i mean was to;if someone has "css prep" less than 100% accordingly.i.e.70-80% he should also be appeared.I experienced aspirants; emotional to appear,but they have leave it because of less prep and never dare to appear,due to the failure or wasting the chance.Now some of them are over age while others faced social problems which provide them no room to accomodate for CSS.
However;most of the students qualify CSS on second or third chance because they already have a framework for study prep,how to attempt paper blah blah.

I m really very much impressed from;

"Attempt of css for a candidate is a great blessing of GOD dont waste it in try".

usuggest mr adnan to appear in2011 just for an idea. he is gvt servent and has no problem of age. then he should appear in 2012 or 2013 as he feel easy. inn css 100% accuracy can not bachieved.70 to 80% prepration means u r very near to alocation. many of my friends got alocation wid 50 to55% prepration but they performed wel in papers. their moral was very high. they use their tips in prepration and attemping papers.

u cote the example of ur friends. it is hidden fear which prevent them to appear.
hidden fear is the greatest enemy of success in css.
always keep ur moral high.

i dont have idea is it compulsory or not for fpsc to conduct css exam every year . If u see old papers from 1971, css exam held every year.

last time i appeared in 2009 n got 119 in GK. But aggregate was 615. i got dishearted n due to some personal engagements left css. now again i got zeal n zest to appear in 2011. Being senior n city fellow whats your suggestion? it can b managed in 3 months?

3 months r more than sufficent. u can easily increase score from 615 to 700. in 2008 i could not alocate.my score was 611 and now in css 2009, my score is 700. in 2008 my interview was on 22 jan. i started my prepration after interview for written 2009. css 2008 final result came on 12 march and nex paper were to start on 14 march. i was very disappointed for not being alocated because of low score in written.
luckily 2009 papers were delayed til 25 march. i got 40 days to manage my study. u have aprox. 90 days and can easily manage ur study.
u mention ur personal problems dat r creating hinderence in ur study.
if i mention my issues which i was facing in those days then u realy feel that ur issues r of miner nature. in family some members are not happy for joining civil service. they feel jealous. being a city fellow ,u r welcom for help and guidence. dont think about personal issues, only concenterate on ur study.
whether u hav chances til 2012 or 2013.


keep ur moral high. remmov ur hidden fear . u should go wid courage . Inshallah u wil got ur alocation. always thing positively.

Ur score in compulsory is better except EDS. in compulsory u should improve EDS.

In ur optional, 2 subjects r very dangerous. I mean very low scoring all time:

IR
Public Ad.

Now journalism should also include in this category.
Indo-Pak History is average subject, sometomes low scoring sometimes high scoring. In 2008 low scoring, in 2009 high scoring and again in 2010 very low scoring. So it can not be trusted on indo-pak history .
ur only trusted subject is sociology which can give u better score.

Subject selection play a very important role in alocation. Now this is not the time to think about it if u want to appear in 2011.

If u think about my suggestion to appear in 2012. Then subject selection can b analyised. As ur combination is not scoring.

If u want to appear in 2011 wid this combination then i wil suggest u some stratigies.
First u decide whether u wil appear in 2011 or 2012.
But i recomend u to appear in 2012 with change subjects.

I understand ur determination to appear in 2011. But ur subject combination, in my view, is not favourable for high scoring. This is the main reason due to which i suggest u to appear with change subjects in 2012. If u have scoring combination then no issue to appear in 2011.

Dont opt english liture. It is also low scoring. I mention some subjects which in my view r scoring:

Persian, Psyscology, Punjabi, Agriculture,Forestry,Geography,Islamic History(low scoring in2010),

u mention some subjects in which u r interested

i had opted iR N public add as i had interest in those subjects.
1st i'l see the syllabus ov these subjects which u mentioned.
being punjabi i can opt it but one ov my teacher in univ. failed in css due to punjabi.
if u provide me ur notes in forestry n recomend books i'll ponder on.

well it depends ...bt 100 marks sub is more scoring....although 200 marks like geography , pol science (scoring in 2010)...Amercian history is also scroring...

i dont thnk so...geography can only be opted if one has full command...coz geography helps u in darwing maps which is helpful in current affairs n pak affairs aswell....3 months r not sufficient to get prepare ....i will suggest u to go with indo pak coz it was low scoring in 2010 and it well rise again in 2011 like pol science ..coz pol sc in 2009 was lowscring but in 2010 candidates got more than 60%...

U had interest in IR and Public Ad. but these r al time low scoring. Ur interest does not matter, only higher scoring matter, U should see css syllabus and study syllabus thoroly. First u should select subjects by following formula

High scoring subjects + ur interest + Guidence of various members


Then i wil suggest u tips and techniques to manage ur study. CSS is only ur planning that how u wil manage ur study, how u wil attempt papers.


Dont confuse ur ideas, only manage ur ideas and apply these ideas on study. U have ideas in ur damag but u r not trying to use them. Remov ur hidden fear wat wil happen. Only go t win ur goal
