Default Vacancies each year

Hello everyone,

This is my first ever post in the Css forums. I have literally read everything on the forum in the last 2 months. I am currently doing Bachelors in Accounts and Finance from a British University. I would be done with my degree in March 2014 and I plan on appearing for CSS 2015 and would opt for the Foreign Services Group because frankly speaking I think I am cut out for this. I know it is quite early to plan such things but I believe if I set my priorities right now it would be beneficial for me. I'm 21.

My question to the respected members is that how many vacancies are generally available each year. I know that there is no fixed vacancies but maybe someone here would have a rough idea about it. I'd be happy if someone could specifically tell me about the FSP vacancies.

Thankyou.

The real figures can't be known but roughly, as we see the history, the number of vacancies are about one-thirds of the passed candidates . So, for instance, if 900 candidates passed the exam, some 270-310 vacancies are announced.

approximately three passed candidates are interviewed for one post. if there are 800 passed candidates in written part of the css, then about 250 - 300 vacancies are announced. this may not be true but it is just conclusion from the last few css exam statistics.
