Default CSS exam preparation

Asslam u Alaikum all seniors/juniors,

Hope you are all enjoying the best of your health and emaan masha Allah. I have done BS computer science from FAST-NU, Lahore. I am planning to appear in CSS examination in Feb 2015 and have chosen the following optional subjects:
  • Arabic
  • British History
  • Geography

I am not very much worried about the optional subjects. I am worried about Pakistan affairs, current affairs, english. I am very much confused and shaky that can I prepare for CSS in 5 months starting from now and do well in exam? I know that it depends on the person how much he is dedicated and ambitioned but I talking keeping in mind the average persons or hardworking persons. If 5 months are enough then what should I make the plan to do well? How to approach. It may be the case that I am pressurized by the course materials.

I think that I have mentioned all the concerns, If I have missed any then all seniors/juniors who have experience, please help keeping in mind the mentioned/not mentioned concerns.

Your guidance will highly be appreciated.

Thank you.

Actually i am having trouble in assessing whether I can prepare well enough for appearing in 2015 or I am just making target on the fly? 5 months are left and there are 9 subjects. 6 compulsory and 3 optional. Pakistan affairs and current affairs and english is making me nurvous and I am getting too much pressure that how to prepare all these and what books to use and where to start? Should I start form page 1 and complete the book. Need guidance in this sense.

Thanks.

Pakistan Affairs is no big deal. Personally I studied from Rabbani's book, not the one written for CSS, but of O level which was pretty basic and I got 50 marks in 2013 which is a decent score in this subject.

For Current Affairs you just have to follow local and international affairs. Follow news. Read Op/Ed of newspapers. Buy Jahangir Times or Current Affairs Digest.

For English buy Exploring the world of English.

And above all check past papers to see what kind of questions will be asked.

Read this forum for further detail on these subjects. 5 months are adequate in my opinion.

Do you think that five months are okay for preparation or it is risky to prepare and perform well?

Dear I haven't read the comments of others but according to me first of all only check the syllabus and past papers of last five years. Then mark the important questions and areas of ur subject. Only read the encircled areas and prepare for it. I hope that u will definitely pass the exam if not allocated. This strategy really works if one apply it to himself with hardwork.

Dear u are too much conscious about the remaining time. Suppose if it is adequate then have u any alternative other then CSS. A single year is precious in this regard. So dear if u think that u have any other alternative than CSS or u have strong financial background and u have so much time to appear in this game then leave it for next year. I don't know about ur age and other relevant information so therefore given a general answer to ur query. I hope it have satisfied u.

Thanks for your reply.

I am 24 years old. I did BS Computer science from FAST NU Lahore in 2011. I worked in a private organization for more than 2 and half years and now working from home. Again, I am planning to work in private company. I want to take a chance to appear in CSS exam. I have limited budget, means I can not sit and prepare for one year and then appear in exam. I have responsibilities too. So, please recommend keeping in mind all these concerns.

Thanks.

Dear we have heard a story of a turtle and a rabbit. Which brings the reader to move slow, steady but regularly and in last wins the race. I have also the same condition as u have.
We have to survive in this critical situation. Every person have different sort of problems which will be solve by him lonely. Dear continue ur job and domestic affairs and prepare for exam aside. Whatever free time u have, utilize it in studies.
