Is a 9 month period pretty good to be successful in CSS exams?

That depends on how you utilize these 9 months but generally speaking it would be enough for a decent preparation.

Yes make notes/study in 4 to 5 months and then revise/test yourself in the months that are left.
At least that's what I am doing
