FSP Or DMG

Assalam o ailkum I have been going through CSS forum for a couple of days there are diiferent views about DMG nad foreign service. as i have viewed there is alot more charm In FSP as comapre to in DMG as the money is good one can see the worlds etc but in DMG one must have political background and ur under the influnence of political leaders. but i am confused that why canidates dont select FSP as as thier first choice this is bothering me very much plz give ur point of view ..senior memebrs

Power and authority exist in PAS..yes u need a political background and yes political pressure is also there as well because of dual accountability ...At higher level one can become secretary of any department... that's y it does have versitality mobility in all aspects ...as grade increase with respect to promotion ..protocol and salary does increase as well...BUT BASICALLY THERE LIES MORE RESPONSIBILITY ACCOUNTIBILITY ON ONES SHOULDER BESIDE PERKS... in Fsp u r paid 1500 to 2500 dollers and multiply it in pak currency it will be in lakhs...I m not sure after deduction how much itwould be...yes u will spend more of ur life outside after every two to three years...for further answer u can get better assessment Abt Fsp in subforum

thanks for your reply..... as far as i have understood PAS is all about power and FSP is about living a life in a charming way money is good and one can see the world

It totally depends on personal likings. Mostly toppers do not go for FSP because everyone cannot leave his family. Your spouse and children can go with you but parents can be taken along on personal expenses. Its hard to live in foreign setup with foreign people. Those who want to enjoy life and want to tour different countries keep FSP on first preference.
