Default Guidance regarding Bachelors and CSS after it.

AoA.

I am a 1st year FSc(Pre-medical) student, and desire to join CSP(especially DMG). Initially, I planned to do MBBS and become a doctor; however, I feel now that 5 years doing MBBS would be pointless if I want to join CSP, for which a 2 years BA would suffice. I would be grateful if someone could comment on my opinion.

Also what bachelors course, at which institution would be ideal in securing my desired CSP post? I looked up a few BA courses over the internet which includes likes of Sociology, Political Science, History, English etc at Punjab University and GC. Although there are several other respectable institutions offering a variety of programs, I would appreciate some seniors could share their opinion.

Dear welcome on CSS Forum.

First of all, you should clear your Fsc Exams with flying colors. Then go for Bachelor's degree and do the same. Subjects of BA does not help in selection of optional subjects unless your aptitude drives it so. Meanwhile go through each and every post of cssforum. It will help you understand the process and tricks of the trade to attempt and pass the pass the examination with good marks, securing your desired Occupational group.

CSS is all about endurance.

Do not assume for granted that you can pass CSS in three attempts as it is inherently an unpredictable exam which even some of the brightest minds fail to pass. You always need to secure your future first before opting for CSS. Go for a professional degree before appearing in exam. In that case, you will be carefree and devoid of the unnecessary tension of 'what if I fail'.

Thankyou,but I think that if I do MBBS which is totally irrelevant for Css exam then it will be difficult for me to pass MBBS along with my bachelor's degree and Css preparation.I believe in this way,securing high position chance will decrease.

@Haris Latif

If I had been in your place I would have taken admission in GC University in English Literature but you need to gauge your aptitude first

Thankyou for your response.
I have another question that what should I do or read during the 5 year session of MBBS which would be helpful in final preparation of css exam after MBBS?

Well,the very best option is to do your mbbs or earn a professional degree for securing future as in css exam,luck also counts.The professional mbbs and engineering degrees are also considered much prestigious in our society.Doing mbbs or getting higher education also enhances much one‘s stamina and abilities.Moreover,three attempts of css are allowed before the attainment of age of 28.So,one can groom and educate oneself accordingly meanwhile while acheiving higher education,if one wishes to give css afterwards.You can read preferably dawn newspaper daily,which improves English language,analytical abilities,provides essential knowledge for essay,current affairs as well as other optional subjects of css.Then you will ultimately be able to understand subjects better and provide the best answers in your attempt of css,after your education.Professional education is difficult and provides one with lots of stamina for hardwork and comprehension of academic work.B.a can be done in an year and half,but most people attempt css after completing their education.One cannot gauge you or say anything about your abilities,aptitude,capabilities or luck,but future is uncertain and unpredictable for all aspirants as sometimes luck doesn‘t favor and people are not able to clear in three attempts for one or other reason but then their formal education supports them.On the other hand,there are many those which qualify each year so one should stay optimistic and confident about ones abilities,as only we can be able to judge ourselves best and what we aspire to do.
