If you can three attempts then continue with the job or else leave it. It actually depends on the financil condition of your family. You can find time along with the job, if you manage it properly....

Brother! please tell us more about yourself like, what is your age right now and what kind of a job are you doing, i mean is it government or private? After answering this, seniors may guide you in a better way.
I would say, if you can skip this attempt(CE-2014) and still you have all the three chances according to your age limit, then what is the deal in leaving a job? You can better prepare yourself with your job for CE-2015.

Default Job or preparation

In my personal opinion you should maintain your job and you should prepare yourself for the exam with your job. Dear brother its very difficult to find a government job in Pakistan once you leave it. Furthermore there is no surety that you will certainly get the job of CSP. I don't want to say that the exam is very difficult and you are too weak to get through the exam but i really want to say that the exam is just a game of luck. Again i say that you may or may not become a CSP but i can say with a high degree of surety that you may not find a government job once you leave it.

I am also an aspirant of CSS 2014, despite the fact that I am working in maintenance department of a private company I keep myself up both bodily and in spiritm because it is your determination that grants you success in challenges like CSS.

A few problems that I face and my personal strategy to overcome them.
Problems.
1- At times I get very tired on weekdays and cannot study in the evening so...........
I have devised the reading activities in the weekdays and notes making plus detailed studies for the weekends, this way I at least cover the minimum amount of course I can on weekdays, otherwise I would cover nothing on weekdays.

2- I get demotivated and lethargic at times by thinking that I am already doing a job why should I try for more.......But then I find myself indebted to a beautiful country, a country to which owe's to me favors that don;t let me settle down easily,so I get up refreshed and consume my studies not for myself but for a country that people call Pakistan.......

Good day

I think its clear from question you've asked . Job or preparation?
Both are two different things . Job earns you money and preparation leads you to passing exam.
Now confusuion arises when both become important . If you can survive without job , go for preparation. But if you 're unable to make your both ends meet then , doing job becomes inevitable . And answer of this question , no person on the earth knows better than you .
Best wishes dear :-)
