Should we risk our career for CSS?
Is it fine to risk our career in the CHASE of the dream of CSS , if one is motivated and well planned?

You don't need to risk careers , CSS can be managed without it .

If your career is fulfilling and promising, then you should not risk your career for CSS. Rather, you should not go for CSS.

I'm one of those aspirants who struggled immensely through their academic lives. After completing my intermediate, i chose Pakistan Army as my career and applied for long course 127. Unfortunately i was rejected. Took admission in Sir Syed university and was doing Civil Engineering. I do not know what God has chosen for me, that i left sir syed owing to much depression of not being selected in the Army. Applied again and rejected twice. Perished, went into pieces. Decided to complete graduation and took B.A papers along with the pursuit of CSS. done with B.A and took admission in KU for masters in Pol.Science. presently preparing for CSS and doing masters too. Determined to appear for the very first time in CE-15, with much confidence and zeal. But i do not regret what i lost and just moving forward with a hope that i will make my mark in the very first attempt. If not, will apply again and then for the third time. But sometimes i think and fear that if I do not clear CSS in all the three attempts, what i will do then. Masters in pol.science might have worth but do not guarantee struggle-free future, unlike CSS. This was my academic career, with lots of experiences and failures

But " i left sir syed owing to much depression" was your decision and it was your huge mistake.

Yes, it was my decision. It was my decision because my alternative to Army was CSS, but i still do not know why i took admission in Sir Syed and why i left it. i still do not know.

It depends upon your social construction.

But you should have completed your degree to secure your future in case you do not succeed in CSS.

CSS is an option out of many career paths. It should be kept as such else it can damage one to a high degree. One should have a Backup Path or Plan B if something goes south in case of CSS. In my case BE Civil Engg.
