Default Bachelors or Masters??

Assalam o Aliqum Community Member!

I want my seniors to guide me on this, whether it's necessary to hold a Masters degree for appearing in Competitive Exams or we can give it a go after Bachelors (4 years)...i mean to ask whether MA holders are given preference over the Bachelors when it comes to posting or over all candidate's evaluation in interviews or both are treated equally, just on the basis of their Competitive Examination's results?

Is Master's highly recommended before CSS..?

BSc (Hons) or 4 year bachelors is actually equal to MSc as it constitutes 4 years of degree. When it comes to CE, no distinction is made on the basis of education level. You have to fulfil the educational criteria though (regarding division etc.). All candidates have to go through a uniform testing criteria throughout the entire process. Your final selection is based on your position (marks of interview and written tests both). You are always treated on the basis of your marks. I am not sure about promotion criteria, but I am certain that it does not depend on the educational level.

so basically it's good enough to go for CE after Bachelors, all i have to do is to prepare my compulsory and optionals up-to-the-mark, which i think i easily can in one year...m preparing to take CE in 2016...

Yes you are right. Let me tell you that, in fact most of the aspirants go for CSS right after their Bachelors. After completing their degree in June (mostly), they prepare for the exam till February and afterwards search for Job etc. At least this is what I have witnessed recently. 8-12 months are more than enough for CSS.

You must be cautious in the optional selection though as you should be selecting subjects which;
Are high scoring
Are linked to your interests,
You are comfortable with the content or syllabus,
Can be prepared in due course of time etc.

Regards

I don't Think So That A Master Holder Can Clear The Competitive Exam But Master Holders Even Fail In CSS Exams And I Know Most of CSP Who Are Bachelors So I Think You Have to Go with Bachelors If You Can Prepare yourself Fully for Exams.

Actually it doesn't depend on your education as long as you are eligible to take the exam. If one clears the written part and he is a B.A it may cause him a few marks in interview but if he/she is really intelligent and influencing then those marks can be made up. So B.A or Master's actually it's your preparation in exams and integrity of your personality in interview as a whole that matters. By the way it's a shame that most of us don't know that 16 years education is actually equivalent to Masters. We are talking here of B.A (not honors) and M.A/M.Sc.
