How to study books?

I am beginner here and do seek your guidance. Kindly, tell me how to read books of various subjects be it EDS, PAK-AFFAIRS or an optional paper? I am confused whether to read it again and again or learn it, confused?

The best way to read a book is first go through the past papers then just have a look at content,Highlight the topics in contents which were repeating in the past papers.if possible while reading those topics keep stick notes with you,just stick the note in front of topic and make points there by doing this you will remember what you read everytime you open the book..
Best of luck:thumbup::thumbup:

It depends how much time you have for the task.
Well no doubt thorough reading and understanding of every topic is really important.

The way to read a book depends on the purpose of your reading. If you intend to study for some exam and it's more of a general subject or a subject where in you have some insight, the best way is to go through the book, and then make an outline. You will absorb some of the material, before you take the exam, read the outline which now you can expand. That's what I do, although, many would disagree.
