Assallam o alikum guys,
I would like ask seniors about their optionals specially those that belong to engineering field. I am a chemical looking toward css as a career option because of the worsening condition of jobs in Pakistan. I am in the process of gathering information about exam from this website and other resources. Right now i have little to no idea about optionals and wish to look in syllabus of the ones you guys prescribe. Regards Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk |

Hello and welcome to the forum, now come to the optional subjects for engineers basically the engineers or the engineering background students go for the following subjects such as:
1-Physics 2-Chemistry 3-Applied Maths 4-Pure Maths 5-Geography 6-Computer Science It Means The Group II Is Considered for engineering background but many engineers could not select these optional but now i think you have to go with combination 1-Chemistry 2-History Subject Any 3-Regional Language 4-And The 200 Marks will Give you some tension see the subjects and make your 2 3 subject selection combination and post again at forum then you will got the clear idea

Okay guys,
Thanks for your patience. I went through nearly all of the optional subjects and came up with the ones that i either find interesting or have studied before. So here is the list so that you guys can help me pick up the ones that make good combination and have nice scoring trend. Group-I - International Relations (No previous knowledge, just found interesting) Group-II - Physics (studied previously in FSc and engineering) - Chemistry (studied previously in FSc and engineering) Group-III - Business Administration (No previous knowledge, just found interesting) - Public Administration (No previous knowledge, just found interesting) - Governance and Public Policies (No previous knowledge, just found interesting) Group-IV - History of Pakistan and India (studied previously in FSc and engineering) - History of USA (someone's recommendation as a bogus subject) Group-V - Gender Studies (No previous knowledge, just found interesting) - Environmental Sciences (studied previously in FSc and engineering) - Agriculture & Forestry (No previous knowledge, just found interesting) Group-VI - International Law (No previous knowledge, just found interesting) - Criminology (No previous knowledge, just found interesting) Group-VII - Psychology (No previous knowledge, just found interesting) - Sociology (No previous knowledge, just found interesting) - Anthropology (No previous knowledge, just found interesting) - Punjabi (I am a punjabi) Guys I have been going through the previous papers of these subjects and found out that except for technical subjects like Chemistry and Physics, examiner was asking participants to demonstrate critical thinking and analytical & logical skills rather than memorization. I kept these things in mind while creating this list. And if you guys have subjects that you think that I should look deeply into, let me know. Regards |

Alright guys I had a look at the optionals syllabus and googled them and their major topics. Here we go
Group 1 International relations - No background knowledge, just found interesting Group 2 Physics Chemistry Read both of them as part of engineering syllabus. Group 3 Business administration Public administration Governance and public policies No background but interesting subjects Group 4 History of Pakistan and India - studied before History of USA - bogus Group 5 Gender studies - quite interesting Environmental sciences - part of BSc syllabus Agriculture and forestry - doable Group 6 International Law Criminology No background knowledge Group 7 Psychology Sociology Anthropology Punjabi No background knowledge Guys now help me create a good combination and another thing that i noticed that except for technical subjects, the examiner was looking for analytical skills and critical thinking because most of the questions asked for opinions and remedies. Also guys let me know if i need to choose some other ones so that i can study them a bit deeply. Sent from my SM-N910G using Tapatalk |
