The Only Issue That Stops me [English]
Salam,
I have a desire to pass CSS. I am confident that i can do it. It is not a big job. But the only issue i have on which i need quite a help, and which stops me from appearing in the exam is my competency in English Language Writing skills. I am quite comfortable with English language, and can easily understand and speak it. But the problem is that i can not write awesomely in it. I want to write like the articles written in the top newspapers. I have noticed that my vocabulary is not good. I have tried cramming words but it does not work for me, i forget them very quickly. When i read newspapers i find a lot of new words in Essays but at times i can not understand their context. What will the top people here advice me, so i can improve my Essay skills and write an awesome article to such an extent that it gets published. As a note, i would like to say that the content research and extraction for an essay will not be problem, i am only intersted in help on how to craft the essay. |

Your query bemuses me a bit. Do you want to pass CSS exam or want your articles to be published?
If it is about CSS , the examiner just expect you to articulate your ideas without making blunders . You just need to follow the structure of essay and avoid mistakes which the checker won't expect from someone who has been taught English for 12 years at least . If it is about writing articles for newspapers , that will take a little time.It takes decades to become a Robert Fisk , Cowasjee or Ayaz amir . |

The tougher you read, the brighter you write
Hello,
If you want to write like article/column writers, read as much as you can from different writers, prepare your basic grammar from "Exploring World of English" by Saadat Ali Shah, book contains huge topics, get the main topics highlighted from any expert, while keep writing few pages daily on hard copy in order to improve your language. It takes time to improve language esp written/composition, while everyone is good at speaking, focus on writing as much as you can. All the success!
