So here it was, the 1st day of the 44th CTP at Civil Services Academy, Walton, Lahore. A hectic day indeed. The day started with balloting for room allocation followed by multiple tasks like registration and submission of requisite documents, opening of bank account, bio-metric impressions, collection of sportswear and other belongings. The dream finally comes true for the around 250 candidates from across Pakistan as the arrive at the prestigious CSA, their Alma Mater as officers. A hectic day tomorrow as well, which will start with diagnostic tests.

Today the CTP officially commenced. The worthy Director General, CSA, Ms. Saboohi addressed the 44th CTP Probationary Officers. It was followed by a very patriotic and motivational briefing by the Director (CTP) Mr. Imran Ali. The Probationary Officers were introduced with the faculty members as well as were told what is expected of them. The schedule during Foundation course is really very hectic. 7 to 5 30 classes. No mobile phones allowed. Attendance is biometric and you've to be in class at least a minute before the class commences. Inability to cope up with the discipline of the CSA results in issuance of Penalty PT and letter of displeasure. From tomorrow onwards we'd be having lectures from guest speakers who'd br introducing different occupational groups to us. But I am sure apart from all this hard-to-gulp discipline and rules, CTP would be the most memorable time for all the probationers.

We had our first lecture from a guest speaker today. Dr. Khalid Jamil Akhtar, HOD, KEMU, a disabled person himself, he's famous for his untiring struggle to bring the disabled people in mainstream. His lecture was all about self-confidence, perception, cooperation and motivation. A very candid person, Dr. Khalid knows how to really move and motivate others. Tomorrow onwards apart from such lectures we'll be having Occupational Groups Introductory lectures by notable bureaucrats of respective occupational groups. Routine in foundation is really hectic. We also had a session on Code of Conduct and Sports. We all have been warned to avoid any violations at all. Too much to do. Only 5-6 hours are made available to rest. CTP is no bed of roses. Still looking forward to a good end.

Well, the foundation module is in its full swing. We had introductory lectures yesterday and today about RCTG and IRS. It gives an opportunity to the Probationary Officers to have an insight about each occupational group besides providing a chance to Probationary Officers who will be joining these groups to know what should they expect from their group and what the group expects from them.

We have some changes in Foundation Module this time. For example, we are supposed to improve our typing speed to at least 40 wpm. We practice typing for an hour 3 days a week. We also have 5 days a week one hour class for IT skills. Other subjects in Foundation are:
1. Communication Skills
2. Personality Development
3. Etiquettes and social interaction
4. Research Methodology
5. Vocabulary Class

We also have 3 days compulsory sports for one hour at least. It's really really hectic but as the DG CSA said in her inaugural address, they are putting us out of our comfort zones. Hopefully for the better.
