Colours of 35th CTP

hello every one, how r u?
our ctp is going in a very healthy atmosphere. strict discipline is to b observed, but, u learn a lot. visiting faculty is adding colours in it... even ex-president Azad Kashmir, mr.anwar, came. secretaries, IG & other high ranking personnel come regularly.
apart from academics, cultural activities r also going side by side.
a very colourful bonfire & cultural night was celebrated a few days back with jupiter band & performance of probationers
one, one night showing culture of all the regions will also b celebrated.
punjab night is the first to b celebrated.........
still no country study tour & military attachment

AOA

dear brother Imran glad to hear from ur side...

well, its really a life experience to be a probationer at CSA and later on pursuing ones STP... i do pray and hope that you would be benefiting a lot from the experiences and would utilize efficiently for serving the nation in an efficient way...

certainly country study tour and military attachment are major elements of CTP but apparently they would be sending you pple for these journeys after spending some period under their kind behavior (tight administration and strict discipline) :)) ......

hira g, dont worry at all.... it is not like PMA.
dress code 4 classes is obviously formal ( it should b so).....
mess mein decent dress chalta hai... no specific dress 4 mess but obviously, formal dinners per to formal dress hee ho ga na.....
messing is totally free
PC with high speed net is there in rooms
tv lounges r also comfortable
morning PT is something which creates trouble & sometimes extension lectures.....
by the way, css forum k 3 members(including me) r the members of management committee in CSA........
Above all, u r treated as an officer ( not as a student)
everyone respects u...... even the director (ctp) also communicates with us as a senior colleague( not as a boss)
discipline is that u cant leave the class or any activity without prior permission & b dressed properly thats it
bye

First of all thanx to Imran 4 this thread nd hope u r enjoying ur life to its full at CSA. I wonder if u cud tell whether the probationers are allowed to go out of CSA daily nd if so after and till wat time... wat abt sundays..?
Seecodly, Can one get enough time to study for reappearing in css exam to improve the group and whether one gets leave for preparations or exams...

Regards.

ihs Saturday, March 15, 2008 06:23 PM

why not dear, it is civil services academy, not a sub jail. after classe, u ve full liberty 2 go out. even u can get " sarkari vehicle" with green plates 2 go outside( on nominal charges).
u can go 2 home on sundays. saturday ko 2.00 pm tak farigh ho jate hain.

welllllllllll, ur 2nd question is a bit tough. though i feel it is difficult 2 find enough time 2 improve the group via re appearing, but there r examples who did so. aik week ki prep leave mil jate hai. aajkal humare kuch dost css leave per hain.......
Allah aap sab ko kamyab kare aamin

Dear ihs bhai,
Nice to read 35 common colors...may i ask plz how come messing got free?..n gud news tht there is net facility in probationers' rooms...is it really truth that it has been provided by csa?if thts truth then means csa worth living n enjoying now....

What abt Humayuun sahb ,the PT master?..is he still there n asking those probationers to swing on tree's branches who din't attend PT?

oh,is PT still in vogue n strict or say got some leniency?

What abt ur cst n m/a?.....when wd they take place, may i know ,plz?

Regards,sir

ihs Sunday, March 23, 2008 11:29 PM

ya net & computers r provided by csa
PT............... yar bus attendence zaruri hai. i simply go.... mark my attendence..... walk for 10 mins & come back....... koi strictness nai hai...
we r trying that PT 3 days/week kerwa lee jai, lets see what happens
cst.............. starting from 2nd april, i m going 2 NWFP & PUNJAB

our CST is completed. it was really a wonderful experience. everywhere we found senior officers welcoming us. in the districts, the DCOs & DPOs & EDOs were facilitating us with gr8 affection. excurtion tours 2 different places added colours in CST. we got familiarity with culture, admn structure & working of bureaucracy in different parts of the country.
Accomodations were fine. we used 2 stay in circuit houses, Serena hotel, & other good hotels, depending upon the availability.
Normally, lunch & dinner used 2 b by different departments who felt happy 2 entertain css officers.........

praying 4 u 2 join CSA

our army attachment is now over
it was really strange days of our life.
we went with many pre conceived notions but when we saw the hardships of jawans in far flung areas we really felt proud of our army. coz the real strength of pak army r these jawans.
i was attached with corps 5. i visited pannu aaqil, chorr, badin, malir & karachi cantts & stayed 3 nights in deserts( in camps). it was hot & we were exhausted by hectic routine, hats off for army ppl living in such tough areas.
one of our group in WANA was saved by Allah as their convoy was ambushed. they were later on moved by heliocopter.
behaviour of army towards us was good.------------- Majors. colonels & even brigs really tried to make us as comfortable as possible.
basically, it is part of the exposure u get after comming in civil service. we get chance to visit many govt and private institutions and interact with people ranging from high profile to slum dwellers.
wishing ur entry in CSA

two days back, Mehran night was celebrated. sindhi probationers showed culture of sindh and traditional sindhi food was given in the dinner. Hummera Chhana added colour to the event by singing songs in sindhi, pushto and punjabi. sindhi dance " ho jamalo" and punjabi bhangra were the specialities of the night.
before it , Khayber night was celebrated with traditional pakhtoon food, traditional pakhtoon dance “ aatn” & reflection of pakhtoon culture called pakhtoonwali.

yesterday night was " movie cum mango night" in CSA. blood diamond was the movie played & then a zabardast mango party was enjoyed around the swiming pool of the academy, with background music.
by the way, new DG has assumed the charge & he is trying his best to enforce discipline. perhaps, he will give tough time to the 36th ctp

What about the ladies? Shalwar Kameez throughout the week?

First-down Monday, August 04, 2008 03:21 AM

According to my eldest sis,who is now DC Customs and my cousin(now SP), there is no dress-code in CSA,except u b suitblt dressed....for guys, normally even without tie works usually....for girls....whatever way they wear but better according toIslamic injunctions...nevatheless if gals even wear jeans....they say teachers rather become more attentive to'em..lol....yes...reality is what it is...

Well, they say on special days/nights like formal attendance at csa lecture hall or gala-dinner(which usually takes place at the end of training)officers need to wear formal such as full-suit/sherwani or white shalwar qameez with waist-coat...n gals but, gal's way like anything but dupatta/scraf must../.who says on head??..................Fasion buddy n we gals fashionasble.....ya, i wd rather go skirt that day if i happen to succeed being csp...let me b a bit of western beurocrat so that i could counter them from among themselves.....
oh..i c.....Monika lewisnky u got in imagination,well whatever,this is what i intend

engle Monday, August 04, 2008 03:14 PM

dress code at CSA

@first-down

well dear.. there is dress code striclty indeed observed at CSA. perhaps u hve bit old news to tell here.. as for now ,boys hve to wear closed collars in summar that means tie... if u come in class without it u will be sent back to go and put on tie.. and in winter it is manadatory to put on two-piece.
while as ,two days (friday and saturday )you are allowed to wear white colour Shalwar Kameez with waist-coat(must). As for females any thing decent can go ...

As for first-down..she has really come up with idea!!!!!!.. which i hope He/she will probably put into ... I pray for your success....

cheers ! guys.. there is strict observance of rules of conduct nowadays in CTP.. you are supposed to get up early at 6 a.m to show ur presence at P.T ground and you have to attend extra-classes even for your sanctioned leaves.....

A O A, our 2nd country study tour has also ended. Like previous one, it was a memorable experience of my life. We met DCOs, DCs, EDOs & DPOs of various districts. They welcomed us with warth & took care of us. Our accommodation was, like in 1st CST, in Serena, Holiday Inn, Circuit houses & other comfortable places of respective areas.
This time, visit of Islamabad & Federal ministries was wonderful. In many places, DCOs arranged music nights after dinner. Normal pattern remained that DPOs host lunch & DCOs host dinners.
I visited Jhang, Layyah, Multan, Khanewal, Shukkhar, Khairpur Mirus & Islamabad.
I pray 4 u 2 join csa & enjoy all the colours of CTP by urself

ihs Sunday, September 14, 2008 02:33 PM

Before 2nd country tour, punjab night was celebrated with pump and show. traditional punjabi food was served with " KULFI" as sweet dish. Dances of horses were really impressive. comedians like Pepsi cola gave memorable performances. in the end , Malku gave his performance starting with " aj kaala jora pa sadi farmaish te"....... it was all wonderful......

farhanmemon125 Monday, September 15, 2008 12:54 AM

Yep I came to know about your CST, you might have enjoyed the delicious dinner at Irfan's place... I think you were not in the group visiting Larkana. I heard Adeel happened to host some party there. It must have been great, isn't it!!!

ihs Tuesday, September 16, 2008 09:57 AM

yesterday 2nd mehfil e naat was observed in CSA. probationers & other naat khawaans delivered beautiful naats & recited Holy Quran in an impressive way....

ramzanali Wednesday, September 17, 2008 03:26 PM

@ i.h.s
would you be kind enough to share the info about the activities during the military attachment? I just want to know what we are supposed to do during these three weeks? Are we supposed to fight like the army officers in tribal belt, if we are sent there, or are we supposed to do some office work etc, kindly clear my ambiguity,,, Thanks.

ihs Friday, October 03, 2008 08:18 PM

dear ramzan, in the army attachment, we r neither supposed to fight with army, nor to do office job.... we r supposed to "observe" the life of armymen in the unit(in army uniform of capt rank) sometimes, they insist to take us to PT in the early morning, which we generally refuse..... we live in BOQs(bachelor officers quarters), take food in their mess, remain in the unit for the whole day & observe their working.......... meet lt.colonels, brig., maj. Gen and even the lt. Gen. Interestingly, all of them not only call us " future of pakistan" but also try to keep us as comfortable as they can. official dinners are also arranged 4 us. it is a wonderful experience of life...... many misconceptions become clear.
in my next post, i ll further explain the real purpose of all the field visits including army attachment during CTP.
regard & praying 4 u ppl 2 join CSA

ramzanali Saturday, October 04, 2008 02:33 AM

@ihs
Thankyou so much for answering my querries and allying my fears. I was told that the army officers treat you very harshly and there is an air of ill-will between the army and civil bureaucracy which is experienced during the army attachment. Thankyou, sir, for your reply as it has removed my suspicions. Do share your experience about your STP as well. Thanking you again. You have been very kind.

ihs Friday, October 17, 2008 12:23 PM

our field visits are over now. we visited DHA, CDA, Bahria town, 1122, 1121, Edhi, Packages, Govt and Private Hospitals, schools, colleges, Universities, Govt. Offices of higher officers, police stations, HRCP, Aurat foundation, Kot Lakhpat Jail, BISE Lahore, etc., etc...............
the purpose of these field visits, country tours, army attachment is basically three fold:
1. to ascetain the officers about the prevailing conditions, cultures and norms prevailing in our society.
2. To show all shades of life to the officers......... we moved with VVIP protocol in our country tours with Police escort etc.( met Governors, C.Ms, ACS, IGPs , DCOs, DPOs etc),........ we moved with normal protocol to different govt & private institutions ( where head of the institution was informed about our arrival)........... we moved without any protocol, even did not disclose our IDENTITY & went into common masses to know about their problems. It is our comon psyche that we r always complaing about working of offices, but during training, when you sit on the other side of the table, you come to know about the constraints faced by officers & many other things reveal upon u.
3. To enable an officer to make his own opinion after viewing different aspects of an issue. Opinion of an officer should not be basd only on newspapers articles, columns, talk shows, books etc., no, he/she should oneself go & observe., e.g., many misconceptions about ARMY are cleared during ARMY ATTACHMENT and so on....
So, the ppl who are gonna join CSA r advised to take full advantage of these tours 4 broadening their vision
praying 4 ur success

24th oct., 2008
certificates distribution ceremony was held, followed by buffet dinner & BOLAN NIGHT……. Our parents attended the ceremony and felt proud of us………
in bolan night, special balochi dish……. Sajji……… was presented alongwith other delicious foods……… the hallmark of the event was typical balochi dance…….. chaap……… many singers performed in it including nephew of nusrat fateh ali khan….

25th oct., 2008
governor NWFP, awais ghani, delivered a speech and distributed awards…… Muhammad Ali Khan of i.tax was declared best probationer of 35th ctp….. he really deserved……. This was followed by hi-tea and photograph. Every one got clearance from the academy, relinquished the charge ( except DMGans, coz they don’t relinquish the charge) and moved out. This mark was the end of 35th common training programme.

35th ctp khatam ho gye……. 7th jan-25th oct., 2008………… one of the most memorable and once in a lifetime experience 4 me……….. we r sharing sms of anamnesis now a days………..wonderful friendships, excellent working relationships, colourful events, diverse academics, and so on……… I shall never forget my stay at CSA.
my stp will start on 3rd nov 2008.
I tried 2 ascertain u ppl about the activities of our ctp & hope u enjoyed that too….. I missed 2 mention “ all Pakistan mushaira” which was another very colourful event of our ctp……………
