Usually what is the time period between declaration of allocations and start of CTP?

8-10 months!!! Too much.

Because CTP and STP collectively take around 2 years. So total time after allocation comes to around 3 years before joining the office.

But this 8-10 months is the time when a prospective officer can relax.
