Just one question that has been ticking my mind, do you get an individual room during STP or you are on sharing??

This accommodation issue is really disturbing. While I agree that big houses can not really be given in as expensive a city as Islamabad, but at least there must be some respectable solution for that.

As of now, all probationary officers get their individual rooms during STP.

Cheers!

@Emoemar

Thanks for you swift response. And I was reading somewhere that there are rooms, lodges and some dedicated houses in F-6? How does allocation work out? Moreover, when we talk about individual room, does it mean small flats with kitchen etc or a single room as in university hostels?

Best regards!

Yes all of those things are available, but you need to wait your turn to get a house or a lodge etc. Every one should know that accommodation in Islamabad is an issue, since half of our bureaucracy lives here! So in that sense you will always have something, though it might not be house or a flat to begin with.

For probationers, its a decent sized room with an attached bathroom and sufficient closet / storage space. There are combined kitchens on each floor so you can do your cooking there. This ends up as a kitchen per every 12-14 rooms, but not many people cook there so its usually free. Plus, there is a dedicated mess, so you can always eat there.

That's OK then. However, may be a problem for married ones. I was asking about accommodation because since during STP, the salary is too low that it might become difficult to arrange some rented flat and then spend well whole month within 32-33k in arguably the most expensive city of Pakistan.

Moreover, how is mess? Can be relied upon?

And one last important thing how do you commute from Hostel to Academy. Is it nearby or you need some sort of conveyance to commute?

Thanks for your valuable information!

The room size is decent enough to accommodate 2 people comfortably. As far as the mess goes, its very subjective. Lets just say its the most convenient option available.

The academy is right in front of the hostel, will take you about 45 seconds to walk from hostel gate to academy gate!

Cheers!
