Honourable CSPs and seniors, please make a comprehensive comparison between Pakistan Customs service and OMG... In terms of
1) Salary
2) Promotion
3) Benefits like official vehicle, accomodation etc.
4) Power

though OMG stands a very good cadre. a respectable and honourable cadre.

U will have to wait for almost 12 years to get the above mentioned priviliges.usualy promotion to 19 take 12 years.in 17 and 18 u wil have to work as section officer and estimated 70 to 80 section officers work in a ministery.

Now a days OMG is a very good cadre as it offers very rapid promotions as one can jump to scale 18 in just two years.
Remember that the place where OMG Officers surve their duties is the mother of buearucracy. In OMG one will have strong connections with other CSP's and politicians.

What is the duration of STP of omg?

for 38th comm it was of 4 months at STI Islamabad but for 39th comm batch it consists of 6 months.

And how long was CTP for 39th common?

It was of 29 weeks ie 7 months plus a single week

PCS( Pakistan Custom Service) once used to be the prime service and used to be kept at top by CSS qualifiers. But after recent changes namely snatching Sales tax and excise duties areas, PCS had become a small group.
It is in this perspective that only 3-6 posts are advertised via FPSC in CSS exam.
On the contrary, OMG is much larger. Yes, true in the beginning OMG officers dont have much perks like higher slary offered by FBR or Vehicles, But believe me , An OMG officer can be Secretary and but hardly any PCS officer will get to that rank. After recent changes in PCS constitution, PCS officers may hardly reach to 19 grade.
There are many OMG officers of 20 and 21 Grades who holds key posts in FBR . If PCS if BANANA tree, OMG is coconut tree. Fruits of coconut trees are time-taking but constant whereas BANANA tree is cut after onetime production of fruit.
