the starting few years of career n OMG are tough, ater that they have equal oppertunities to get good postings as DMG group. in my opinion, apart from POLICE and DMG all the other css groups are same and hve same perks and previllages and equal oppertunities to become top bureaucrats. 19-20 ka farq to har jaga hota hi hai..

Sir g your this post indicates that without money even grade 18 of OMG is not lucrative.It is highly disagreeable. People dont join civil services just for the sake of money.According to my contemplation OMG is far better than PAAS, PCS, IRS, PRCT, POSTAL and IG because only haram paisa in PAAS, IRS and PCS has made them lucrative.And the sole reason of writing pcs, irs and paas above omg is due to the presence of harm paisa in the said groups. But as far as OMG is concerned so simply i would tell you that there is existing a gigantic mobility for deputations in other department. the real buearucrats are only and only of APUG and you should also keep in mind that paas is not the constituent of APUG. It consists of only PSP, DMG AND SG,, Also think that even DMG Officers leave their mighty DMG and get into SG... SO baki ap khood andaza lagai...
Paas is adorable to paas officers due to the ambiguity existing in it and only paas officer know the term ambiguity..

Dont draw wrong parallels. There is no match of SP with DD (FIA). SP commands 2-3 SDPOs and has full authority in his area. A SP enjoys much more recognition than a DD (FIA). A DD (FIA) only has the nuisance value, not the inherent powers as in the post of a SP.

If someone has used the term 'lucrative', it DOES mean he is joining civil services for money. lucrative derives from 'lucre', and 'lucre' means money.

If you think OMG is better than all the groups you have mentioned, you are entitled to your opinion. I dont need to counter you on that. But please do visit the federal secretariat some day, in case you can, and meet some section officers there. And since my dad is in OMG, I know much better than most of you do.

In grade 21, officers from all other groups have 30% seats in SG reserved for them. Even 2-3 officers from PAAS join SG in every CSB.

And as far as haram and halal, you dont have the right to brand the whole service as corrupt. Corrupt people exist in every service, and so do honest people.

OMG is a good group, having many benefits. However, it is not advisable to compare different groups, DMG/PAS, PSP, OMG, PAAS, IRS etc all are having their respective domain and area of operation, which distinguish it from other groups. All are having their own pros and cons.

It is reiterated, its always a folly to compare two groups/services, even its being insane to compare two postings in same service group. Every post, group/service is having its own pros and cons and plus minuses.

DD FIA also enjoys considerable level of powers, pricks and nuisance value and not every SP commands 2-3 SDPOs, rather its only DPO who commands some SDPOs. DPO is a post usually kept for a police officer at the rank of SSP/BPS-19/Director, however, many SP/BS-18/Dy Director level police officers holds this slot mainly due to their links and connections.

DD FIA usually heads a circle and there are much inherent powers with the officer holding this post.

I disagree and also with your statement that SP enjoys more authority than DD FIA. Have both PSP (DIG) and Add. Dir. FIA in my family and I know the difference. The authority and respect which a FIA official enjoys is much more than a Police officer. Yes for raw power on the street, PSP is better but I would never get in petty fights with strangers on the road. Infact, even when it comes to street power, SP will have it only in his area and not all over the country. For the rest, just visit any ministry both with a FIA officer and PSP officer and see the difference yourself.

As far as powers of arrest are concerned, you are grossly mistaken again with respect to jurisdiction. Just read the relevant laws and you will be surprised.

[B]There is no Comparison , there never was any comparison !!! By the time you start comparing that means you are smashing the very uniqueness of every group !! And if you dont like to be in any Group or Service just dont mention it in your form , I assure this that you wont get it . There are people who cry to get through the exam then cry to get allocated even in their 12th preference but when they get in better position they start comparing and complaining ! It is quite an irony that they compare in terms of money , car and house !! None is interested in the job they are assigned and the responsibility they have to carry !
