Aafia trial is not aafia trial, it is the trial of us judicial system
Lets see what these custodians and clamorers of universal human rights have practised for the themselves ?

Ahmed an eleven year old minor , missing since 2003 along with his two sublings and mother are now in the afghan custody
His aunt Dr fauzia in a press conference told the reporters that the government of pakistan denied citzen status to the eleven year old minor.
Now when the rein of power is totally in the hands of of our new master , His royal highness Zardari , we the helpless subjects atleast expect some measures from the benovelance for bringing the minor back to hs related

Aafia is indicted with the absurd list of crime she in her fragile status (Only 90 pounds of weight) is even physically incapable of doing.
The Harvard trained neuroscientist (She a product of the same program which is considered to be the best medical faculty of the world) would be tried in this week.
You may see any Islamic site (Also HRCP Site) there would be latest updates about her
I as soon as see the next appeal of protest will post it on the forum

Default A catharsis!!!

The detention of Dr. Afia Siddiqui and her alleged manhandling in Afghanistan is making news these days.We all have suddenly sprung to life after adormant sleep... when five years..Five preciouse years of her life had been used only for torturing her. harrasing her and her children who are still missing and being assaulted in the Baghraam jail -
Every now and then, while we chant rosy anti-terror slogans and bomb our own ppl for being terrorist...while we drool over mouth watering "aids" we are getting form our master Mr. USA and start killin over own inncent ppl and destroyin our mosques so that these bloody islamic terrorists may give the world a chance to get converted into a clean place.. we completely turn blind and deaf towards the menace of terrorism, stifling gusts from Baghraam jail, crazy screams from Abu-Gharib’s dungeons and outrageous humiliations from Guantanamo Bay,that tell tales about the nasty iceberg of injustice down there AND ALSO ANOUT OUR INSESITIVITY, COWARD MINDZ AND SLAVE MENTALITY!!

True, she may be a leading Al-Qaeda terrorist, a key in the 9/11 attacks and more dangerous than Osama Bin Laden, but does that all give THEM the right to strip anyone on the road and keep him in the gloomiest slums of the world, and subject him to anything from sexual harassment to physical assaults? Is this war-on-terror or an exercise of capricious castigation of a bunch of people hand-picked at will? Does anyone’s crime give us the authority to subject him to rape, sodomy and all the hideous kinds of crimes humanity has ever known? If the answer to any of these questions is no, then there is a more emphatic, more convincing and more obvious question mark on the correctness of the direction of war-on-terror.

So, sane people from the two disparate worlds - US and Pakistan- need to glean truth from popular rhetoric. While one is in demand of a massive overhaul of everything from Judiciary to Governance, the other needs a dose on giving precedence to fundamental human rights of the people. And while there is no dearth of people asking for her release and her handing over to Pakistan, I maintain my demand that a complete inquiry be made into whereabouts of Prisoner 650. Who was he/she and what was the type/status of torture used against him/her? When was he/she arrested and where was he/she kept during the course of last five years? The actual prisoner 650 may not be Dr. Afia , and he/she may not be an MITian, nor a Muslim, but that does not forgo his/her right to reach the site of a camera, a lawyer and a hospital.

To Pakistanis

Every now and then, screams from the darkest dungeons of Guantanamo Bay form news. Dr Afia was picked up from our midst – no brows raised. Teeny-weeny news items of her handing over to the US were published – nobody flinched. The Chief Justice taking notice of such disappearances was sacked, and we asked questions of how his sacking would affect us! We all saw these atrocities being perpetrated on the expense of state apparatus, and we absolved ourselves by blaming this or that for it. But deep inside, we all know we need this unabashed orgy to continue, so that our wells don’t dry up, our aids are not stopped, and our rupee does not plummet. We all know of this clandestine prostitution, are contributing to it, are happy over it. While I write these lines, hordes of motorcyclists celebrating independence, singing ‘hum zinda qaum hain’ throng the roads and the best I could find for this DUBLE-STANDARD ORIENTED nation OF OURS was:
=====================================
Tum na ram kay monis na hanuman kay dost
tum na kafir kay sana-khoan na musalman kay dost
tum na kufr kay hami na ilhaad kay dost................
=====================================

WITH AN ABSOLUTELY BROKEN AND HURT HEART
REGARDS
AMNA!

Thumbs down update for aafia

Pakistani defendant must undergo NY psych tests
The Associated PressPublished: September 24, 2008

NEW YORK: An American-educated Pakistani woman charged with trying to kill U.S. soldiers and FBI agents after they detained her in Afghanistan must undergo psychological testing, a judge said Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman said he will sign an order later this week requiring the testing for Aafia Siddiqui, who refused to attend the hearing.

The judge also scheduled a December hearing to decide whether Siddiqui is competent to stand trial on attempted murder and assault charges. Berman entered a not guilty plea on her behalf.

The U.S. government has accused Siddiqui of grabbing a rifle at a police station in Afghanistan in July and shooting at U.S. Army and law enforcement personnel before resisting arrest. Siddiqui was brought to the United States in early August.

Defense lawyer Elizabeth Fink said her client should be tested at a New York hospital. She said Siddiqui has refused to leave her jail cell, interact with her lawyers or open legal mail.

In monastery's ashes, a 'cleansing by fire'
"She has mental illness," Fink said. "She's psychotic."

But the judge said the extent of her mental difficulties has not been fully analyzed and requires more extensive testing.

Berman said she also must receive proper medical care for injuries sustained when she was wounded during the encounter in Afghanistan.

Fink said Siddiqui did not want to appear in court in part because she was videotaped when she was examined by a doctor on Sept. 9 and she has become convinced the videotape was distributed publicly over the Internet.

Siddiqui said she would be ashamed to appear in court because she believed people had seen her naked online, Fink said.

"She's not rational," Fink said.

The judge said the video will not be released.

A prison psychologist has said Siddiqui suffers from severe depression

Red face aafia unfit for trial

Terror suspect 'unfit for trial'

Accounts differ as to how Aafia Siddiqui ended up in American custody
A Pakistani scientist accused of having links to the al-Qaeda leadership has been deemed by US psychiatrists as mentally unfit to stand trial.

They have concluded that Aafia Siddiqui is unable to understand the nature and consequences of court proceedings and cannot assist properly in her defence.

The evaluation was performed at a medical centre in Fort Worth, Texas.

Ms Siddiqui has been charged with attempting to kill US troops sent to arrest her in Afghanistan in July.

'Secretly held'

The evaluation said that Ms Siddiqui, 36, is "not currently competent to proceed as a result of her mental disease".

US District Judge Richard M Berman has announced a conference of lawyers on Wednesday to discuss what should happen next in the case, including the possibility of medication for Ms Siddiqui's "depression".

Demonstrations have been held in Karachi calling for Ms Siddiqui's release

She was categorised as an al-Qaeda supporter by the US government in 2004 and later was charged with attempted murder and assault.

She had allegedly used a rifle at a police station in Afghanistan in July to shoot at US army and law enforcement personnel. She too was shot and wounded.

Human rights groups say that Ms Siddiqui was missing for five years before the shooting incident and was secretly held in custody by either Pakistani or US authorities.

In 2004, the FBI described her as an "al-Qaeda operative and facilitator who posed a clear and present danger to America".

She was taken to the US in August and at the request of her lawyers was transferred to a facility which specialises in mental health treatment for women soon afterwards.

Ms Siddiqui faces 20 years in prison if convicted. Her lawyers have dismissed the charges as ridiculous.

The US say Ms Siddiqui was married to a nephew of the man accused of masterminding the 9/11 attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

The mother-of-three, an ex-student at the elite Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), did not enter a plea at a preliminary hearing on 5 August.

The FBI says Ms Siddiqui was apprehended on 17 July in the Afghan province of Ghazni by local security forces who allegedly found documents including recipes for explosives and chemical weapons in her handbag.

US army officers and FBI agents visited her in detention on 18 July, they say, alleging she seized a US officer's M-4 rifle from behind a screen before opening fire on the Americans.

According to her family, Ms Siddiqui has not been seen since returning to Pakistan on a visit from the US in 2003.

They say she is "innocent of any crime" and deny that she has connections to al-Qaeda.
