why so low scores??

when general sab told me in the interview that i had gotten 41 and 42 in my english, in my mind i brushed it aside as mere bluff. however when my dmc came in i had those marks.but as we can see from other people's marks they are not very different from the rest of the people. most of the people who have passed precis have scored 42 or so in precis.
the questions is: what is the standard of english in CSS
what do they look for in this paper. this was my third chnce and in my previous chances i never scored less than 50 in this paper. so a sudden drop of nine points has amazed me, given the fact that my english has improved over the last year. a further two points decrease could have thrown me in the failed candidates list.

I would rather agree to your observation on the marks of English Composition. One fails to understand that an exam that was easier compared to the ones of 2005 and 2006, has proven to be the single point of success or failure. I feel this time it had something to do with the examiner, and not the examinees as the general distribution of intake remains the same, well give or take, over the years.

Pardada! Yeah agreed... this paper was quite easy and I think ur point is quite pertinent to the overall result of English Precis...I did well in this paper but couldn't score that high. Secured 57 marks in it. Nevertheless it was better than my peers..

mahmood i want to know how and why did gen sb tell u ur marks in interview??? its quite strange thing, it proves the myth that chairman actually has our marks with him during interviews.........

yeah i agree that last year paper was easier than 2006 & 2005.i also agree that over the year we improve .since examiners dont remain same so every body's standard varies & so the marks.

@ sibtain; yes the interview panel do have dmc with them during time of interview.
