I will daily post 10 idioms and 10 pair of words on this thread. Members are requested to post if they want to participate. This would be ample practice before 2017 exam.

Something good that isn't recognized at first.


Burn the midnight oil
To work late into the night, alluding to the time before electric lighting.


Can't judge a book by its cover
cannot judge something primarily from its appearance
