Idiomatically 'take my word' also means believe me or trust me.

No idea. which dictionary did you look in?

idiomaticatically meaning that you are telling stands for "take my word for it".

take somebody's word for it
to believe that something is true because someone tells you it is, without making sure that it really is true (often in future tenses) If you say you've checked the money I'll take your word for it. Don't just take her word for it - go and see for yourself.
