"already"
When I reached the airport, Naveed ____ already _____ there to get on the air to India.
A. had; waited B.was; waiting C. had; been D. had; got Key: B What about "C"? Generally speaking, "already" is used together with a perfect tense. I wonder how many kinds of tenses can be used with it besides perfect tense. Can anyone give me more examples? Thanks in advance |

technical mistake detected: substitute "Naveed" with a more appropriate word like "Free thinker"
anyway sister i would also go for the option 'C' as my first choice ; for option 'D', there is nothing wrong in terms of its sentence structure w.r.t grammatical rules, but option 'D' speaks of Naveed as if he had been dumped at the airport for past few decades to wait for his flight to India Last edited by Abdullah; Sunday, April 16, 2006 at 10:40 AM. |
