Focal point is found either in introductory para or ending para. 3 meaningful readings will support you in finding key words for title. Digg out the central point of piece.

@lizaaudacious

Read through the whole passage carefully as many times as you feel for you own convenience then try to comprehend. Afterward, you'll be able to draw its main idea.Title can be find at the beginning or at the end of the passage.Title should be concise, short and suitable which should express the subject.

Regards,

Well a title to precis must be assigned whether it has been asked or not. this title should convey the central idea of the original passage.

in order to reach to the title: give passage a careful read two or three times. but the pitfall is that the original passage may contain some ironical element which mean jsut the opposite of what is being said. this should be clearly understood before writing down the precis.

And don't go for fancy things. Keep the title simple, easy and should relate the subject and verb both.

dear ...no matter how hard you practice and how many suggestions you take, its those 3 hours in the paper that will matter. if you could grab hold of your nerves then and there, you can go through the whole process. if not, this whole prep is of no use.

P.S ofcourse, practice gives you confidence and that is all that is required. Fancy or otherwise, the first thought that comes for the title, mostly stays there so give it a good thought...

Main idea of a passage is always hidden topic sentance and concluding setance but here are 3 methods to derive a title for a passage. .
1.phrase os statment
2.interogative sentance.
3.punctuation.

1.eg "function of philosphy"
"Myth of philosphy"
"saga of philosphy" etc
2.puncuate with colon or semi colon.e.g "fine art;aesthetic concept rather than practical"
3.interogative e.g. "how to unveil myth of philosphy".
We can use articles to derive a title eg "an insight to philosphy".
Never use flat sentances in a title eg."role of philosphy" etc.
