Yes, I don't see any reason for not being to reference or write your own article in Essay as long as its suitable for the topic.

But you can not mention in the essay that the specific article was written by you as it can show you your identity and you can be disqualified. I read somewhere that you must not give any such hint in any exam which can reveal your identity.
