In English paper, they have asked to write an essay of 4000-5000 words. It means that if your writing is spacious you should write 30 pages atleast. I am little confused on this. I have got this information from a cousin of mine, who is a candidate in 2007 exams. He managed to write 20 pages. He was quite upset on this. Can u guys provide me with any help on this, so I can tell him.

@ Ahsan3

It is completely against of truth. They never mention themselves to write specific words in Question paper. U may check it out in previous papers. One of them is below. Moreover I have some friends they wrote hardly 15 pages in essay paper but they cleared it. It is not matter of words , It is matter of mind. How beautifully can u manage the topic.

Hmmm....... this time all the topics for the essay were of quite general nature so it was really not a big deal to write 4000 to 5000 words on any of the topics. Writing so much is difficult for the topics like "Foreign Direct Investment in Pakistan" (Last year's topic) etc.

4000 -- 5000 words do not compel to have 30 pages at all, words specification truly means words not the pages.

Well, 20 pages are more than enough, if he's written related material, and wrote the essay in a comprehensive manner.

Right Sami, but if one has enough readings and references then three hours are quite enough. Further, i've attempted CSS in 2006, unfortunately i couldn't make it, but i know the level of difficulty, and after first attempt of mine i found the ways to manage such difficulties as well.

Ahsan! It is totally incorrect. The quality matters not the quantity. I wrote an essay on FDI IN PAKISTAN. The lenght of the essay was 17 pages.
