Salaam,

I just noted a change and wanted to share with you people. Seniors are requested to please comment on it. the thing is uptill 2006 the caption of essay paers used to read as

Write A Comprehensive And Analytical Essay On One Of The Following Topics:

which now i.e. since 2007, turns out tobe like this

Write a COMPREHENSIVE essay (4000 – 5000 words) on any ONE of the topics listed below. Make sure you use different forms of discourse; viz: exposition, argument, persuasion, description and narration.

Can anyone please explain what does the omission of the word "ANALYTICAL" signify and what these different forms of discourse mean?

New forms of discourse have been explicitly mentioned to make clear to the candidates what the word ANALYTICAL stands for. Hehe

The term ANALYTICAL means, that the things which your are saying, are totally analyzed through the forms of discourse, which you have mentioned.
