When poverty seen at national level and not at individual level. It causes so many problems The rights of the poor country are plundered by other countries. The same is true in individual point of view, many times poor people's rights are oppressed by the rich thus making them poorer.In short the poor cant defend their rights.

Narrow mindedness (people with poverty have the first and only preference to earn that much to feed themselves and family) They don't think broader

Extremism.

Discriminative behavior with others (especially among literate and young poor people)

Low mental development and less maturity in behavior and attitude.

Mostly the effects and causes of poverty are cyclic.

poverty leads to illiteracy, bad health, low opportunities, less mental development for children born in poor families and when they get older they too are mostly poor. SO in other words poverty is the effect of poverty and poverty is the cause of poverty.

Poverty in cities hampers the organised construction and development of cities, like, slums, encroachments, beggars on the roads and streets.
