dialogue is the best course to combat terrorism

, aoa friends, dear members i hope all are fine.this is the topic i attempted.i need ur comments on my way whether i did it safelyn....
-i made a comprehensive n neat outline
-i remained stick to it
-i was in the favour of the topic
-n i supported my view by mentioning other means of combating terrorism i.e military action, counter terrorism n counter insrgency strategies
-why dialogue has become necessary
-then i did mentioned the should be parties to the dialogue i.e insurgents n allies/invaders as well as b/w the allies
-then i did elaborate what should be the dialogue(that i did in farm of citing suggestions)
-i did not much discussed terrorism in Pak n mentioned Pak's interests n concerns w/ regard to the need n agenda of the dialogue
-in doing so i rather focused Afghanistan as the roots of terrorism
-i did highlighted the flaws in war on terror when i explained the circumstances w/h gave rise to the need of dialogue

THE LACKINGS I FEEL
-my language was simple, though nt over simplified n i totally forgot to give a touch of flowery english anywhere
-i did compiled my essay n gave a good conclusion, but my suggestions were in points not scattered over the pages,as some ppl say they should be of this n this no. of pages
-towards the end of my essay the examiner might feel that im in a hurry as my writing was no more that neat as it was in the start
-n the most serious i did not support the uses of dialogue w/ historical instances so it might give a look to my essay not so pursuassive
this is not the sequence in w/h i attempt the topic,i just typed wharever i could recall.pls do comment.thnks

New Student Sunday, April 04, 2010 02:55 PM

@Isa Mohmand

Brother a well attempted outline. However it is indeed difficult to comment on outline as it is much short. Few comments:

1. It would be a good idea to provide some theoratical background in introduction and the next paragraph (Although not a rule, just a suggestion), and not to rely completely on historical events elaboration.

2. If you discuss each historical event with some theme then it would be much better. For example you stated:

I) inquisition in Europe: how muslims and jews lost their freedom of religion to the fanatic rule of Isabella and Ferdinand in spain.
2) US constitution begins with the words: Men are born equal. But Blacks remained slaves and disenfranchised for a better half of US history till 1960s.
3) Women disenfrachised in europe historically till 1930s.
4) Colonialism

My Suggestion:

1. The humans have lost their freedom because of tyrannic regimes like the rule of Ferdinend ........
2. Even though with modern ideas in politics like that of constitution, humanity saw new horizons of freedom. Constitution provided necessary enforcement mechanism for the basic human rights but however one of the oldest constitution i.e. American constitution distinguished among humans merely because of their skin clolor ......

I mean to say that you should provide a good background of any historical event or fact.

Rest you can provide more events or details as you like and can manage.

One more point that I would add is that the two adjoining paragraphs should have some connection and relevance.

Good luck.

Regards

Many people deviated from the topic, alot of people wrote causes and impacts of terrorism, however the central idea was dialogue, even one of my friend wrote causes, impact of terrorism with little information regarding dialogue. So i think this topic will jolt many aspirants but hope for the best.

gOOD Luck
